Typical Configurations

Two filter housings/vessels: Each containing a basket, cartridge, or element for straining or filtering.
Changeover valve system: Either a 3 way ball valve, butterfly valve set, or manifold with interconnecting piping that directs flow through one vessel at a time.
Common inlet and outlet connections: The pipeline fluid enters the inlet, passes through one of the filters, and exits through the outlet.
Drain and vent valves: For removing trapped air or draining liquid before maintenance.
Pressure gauges/differential pressure indicators: To show the condition (clogging) of the filter element.
